Two and a half years ago, I left my job as statewide Director of Enrollment Marketing for the 64-campus State University of New York and ventured into two new ventures. Through my personal consulting business, Fitt Talent, I carried out a founding philosophy that great people belong with great employers. By focusing on talent acquisition advertising, employer branding, and internal communications, I was able to help businesses uniquely position themselves as employers of choice to attract and retain competitive workforces. At the same time, I was a founding partner in Collectiv THKG, a rebellious marketing and web agency that dared our clients to use collaborative thinking to develop and grow brands. Both ventures have been challenging, fun, and rewarding — not just in the scope of projects but also in the incredible people I’ve met along the way.
Today, I’m excited to announce new changes that reflect what I’ve seen and learned over the past 30 months. Traveling throughout the northeast, we noticed two trends that were consistently common barriers among organizations of all industries, sizes, and locations. First, there was a lack of internal alignment among the three key pillars of any organization: strategy, talent, and brand. Second, we met a lot of businesses that desperately wanted to reinvent themselves, but just didn’t know where to begin. These two elements prompted me to unify the services I was previously operating as two segmented operations. Welcome to the new Mark Parfitt Consulting.
Through my own professional journey, I’ve had the honor of meeting and working with some of the best and brightest individuals and agencies. In this new role, I’ll be leveraging the talent and resources of that network to assemble customized teams specifically designed to take on designated client challenges. The best expertise isn’t always under the same roof, in the same area code, or even on the same coast. By utilizing technology to remove geographic barriers, I look forward to introducing you to some of the best collective minds out there — from graphic designers, photographers, and web developers to motivational speakers, statisticians, and even corporate comedians. Together, with you and your teams, we’re going to remove existing boundaries, create new opportunities, and climb new peaks. Start here and let me know where you’d like to go.
